Women's Libraries ,
archives and documentation centers see themselves as a collective memory and as lively centers of the women's movements. Documents on women's herstory, women's work, women's politics and women's culture are preserved here. Experiences and insights of the international feminist movements are discussed and conveyed.

 

Books,
magazines, grey literature, estates, autographs, photos sheet music, audiovisual material, buttons and other small objects are being collected, systematized, bibliographically processed and made available for use.

 

All
i.d.a. members offer couselling on research and archival matters. Some of the larger institutions offer computer research of literature via their own databases or via Internet.

 

They contain
literature which cannot be found in general libraries, they offer a number of various rare documents for research and studies. They also serve as multiplying agents of women's information to a larger public.

 

They transfer
academic feminist discourse to general and professional application.

 

They offer
unique services for scientific and media research, exhibitions, political debates, campaigns and events.

 

They are part
of women's networks in cities and regions and support women's cooperation at all levels.
